The European Alliance enhancing opportunities in microtechnics

Microtechnics Alliance: Heart of europe for microtechnics

Two French competitive clusters, Pôle des Microtechniques and Minalogic and two European clusters, MicroTEC Südwest in Germany and Micronarc in Switzerland, have launched Microtechnics Alliance during the 2012 trade fair Micronora.

They aim at encouraging trans-regional dynamics and developing skills in the microtechnics field. This initiative intends to make the region the capital of microtechnicss in Europe, in order to develop a strong synergy. Microtechnics Alliance has the purpose to extend networks and to facilitate partnerships in order to help the development of its members. Business partnerships that would be created will bring out new technological projects and new business opportunities, too.

This alliance must give an excellent international exposure to the microtechnics field. It means that Microtechnics Alliance looks for “more innovation, more growth, more jobs”.

The offer is actually complementary on the four territories and covers the whole microtechnics chain, especially for the development of smart systems which associate needs of specific functions, processing information and communication of data.

Partnership Dynamism

The members of this new alliance have adopted a pragmatic approach and their objectives are applied with practical actions. The management teams of the clusters work closely with European structures like technological platforms, which gather companies and academic structures. Organizing conferences, conventions and business meetings will help companies to know each other and to identify new skills. Sharing good practices will support management teams to get the right tools and to get the experience and the know-how for animation.

The four clusters have already been working together for many years. We can mention the cooperation of Pôle des Microtechniques and Micronarc in the cross-country project Minnovarc (and now Innovarc), the cooperation of Pôle des Microtechniques and Minalogic in the project Phemto. MicroTEC Südwest and Pôle des Microtechniques are also partners of the European Platform EPOSS.

Such initiatives demonstrate the alliance, which is a step forward development and structuring of current and further actions between the four clusters.
